    Pursue a Flexible Master of Science in Nursing

    What if you could get your MSN without giving up the time you need to spend with your patients? Mount Saint Mary’s University is helping make this a reality for nursing students. 

    We now offer one degree in two convenient formats, placing a priority on work-life balance. Students have the option to complete their MSN degree in an accelerated, 1-year format or in a non-accelerated, 2-year schedule. Both options prepare registered nurses in advanced nursing theory, educational principles, leadership practices, and modern-day specializations while fostering their spirit to serve others.

    What Makes the Mount Different?

    There are many MSN programs in California, and even the country, but ours is unmatched when it comes to:

    A Flexible Format: Except for practicum experiences and course-required simulations, our core MSN nurse educator and leadership administration didactic courses are offered online and asynchronously. 

    Specialty Tracks: We train students in patient-care technologies to deliver and coordinate the highest level of care. Our tracks include Nurse Educator or Leadership and Administration.

    Practicum Experiences: Our mentored practicum program and thesis project help you create an experience portfolio tailored to your career needs so you can champion effective health policies where you work and live.

    Our MSN curriculum prepares nurses in advanced nursing theory to work in specialized nursing roles. As healthcare changes throughout the years, MSMU graduates will be ready to meet and adapt to those changes. Graduates can pursue leadership roles in interpersonal health groups, participate in nursing research or lead clinical projects.

    Integrate the Liberal Arts Into Your Care

    Our program incorporates The Essentials of Master’s Education in Nursing as identified by the American Association of Colleges in Nursing. With this knowledge, we help nurses integrate the humanities and biophysical research into their care. This allows them to better understand their patients and their concerns and grows their empathy and advocacy work.
