At the Mount, you can advance your nursing career while working full-time.
About the Graduate Nursing Program at MSMU
Our graduate nursing program prepares registered nurses in advanced nursing theory, leadership and modern-day specializations while fostering a spirit to serve others. Our program provides nurses with the skills and knowledge they need to deliver the best quality of care and advance health advocacy.
As the first nursing program in California, we truly are leaders in nursing excellence.
Designed for working nurses, our program offers its classes on weekends. Classes meet for a total of six Saturdays per semester to examine multi-faceted issues in the world of nursing. This flexible format combines face-to-face meetings with online learning, allowing students to balance work, life and school while completing their MSN degree in either a full- or part-time capacity.

Nursing Student Today, Leader Tomorrow
Our flexible, 2-year MSN program is designed for emerging nurse leaders seeking to advance to roles of increased responsibility. Classes meet in-person every-other weekend - for a total of 6 weekends per semester.
Serving Others
We develop effective nurses by immersing them in advanced nursing theory, research and leadership while fostering a spirit to serve others. We also equip them with the knowledge they need to deliver the best quality of care.
Research Reaps Rewards
Our students enhance their research skills by participating in our Annual Research Symposium. It offers students a venue to interact with alumni, administrators and nursing professionals from the community.
I really enjoyed observing the faculty and how they consistently modeled very high standards. They showed the joy you get from helping people, the value of hard work, and that you should always be your best, even when no one is watching. ![]()
