Located at Mount Saint Mary’s University’s Hollywood Studio, the MFA in Film, Television and Photography and certificate programs equip you with the must-have skills and equipment to create professional-grade films. You’ll build a solid portfolio that showcases your expertise across each facet of the creative and technical process in a professional studio setting. 

As a part of our diverse student body, you’ll  work on real projects supported by professors with on-the-ground industry expertise, and use the same equipment and gear you'd see on any Hollywood set: camera systems, rigs and stabilizers, extensive lighting kits, top-of-the-line audio equipment, pre- and post-production tools and more.

The unique environment at the Mount allows you  to learn all aspects of filmmaking — proposal writing, pre-production, research, shooting, sound, editing, outreach, and fundraising — and therefore discover and develop your specific talents and skills. 

At the Mount, you’ll be encouraged to take risks and experiment in a safe and nurturing atmosphere. Aesthetics and theory are incorporated into the curriculum so you can understand the context and influence of film history and apply it to your own work. You’ll also make long-lasting contacts with a peer group and cohort of colleagues that will continue to support you as you launch your film career.
